Bethel

Bethel is located about 400 miles west of Anchorage, Alaska and has a population of approximately 6400. It is a hub for over 50 rural Alaskan, or "bush", villages. There are no roads that connect to other larger towns or the Alaskan road system, so people and goods can only be flown or barged into Bethel.

Bethel is the home of the Kuskokwim 300 Dogsled Race. The Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation operates a regional hospital in Bethel to serve Bethel residents as well as residents for villages around the region.
