CALMING YOUR CHILD ABOUT COVID-19

1. Communicate - Talk About It
Get down on their level and just listen to whatever they want to talk about.

2. Set an Example
Keep yourself calm. Remain calm around your child and teach them ways to calm themselves.

3. Turn Off the News
It's good to have the info, but not good for anxiety. If your child watches the news, make sure you talk to them about what they heard and address any concerns they may have.

4. Let Them Ask Questions
Children have big imaginations, so let them ask questions and provide clarifications in child-friendly terms.

5. Safety Duties
Empower your child by giving them tasks they can do to keep themselves and others in the family safe.

6. Provide Distractions
Keep them occupied and distract them by playing outdoors and doing activities as a family.

7. Maintain Routines
Try to keep a routine to provide some sense of predicability and structure.

8. Cuddles and Hugs
