Updated protocols
The CDC recently updated its guidance for K-12 schools, and regional school districts have received updated guidance from YKHC as well.  In response, LKSD has updated their COVID-19 Protocols to reflect this new guidance.

The key updates include:
  • Changing close contact guidance to differentiate between recently vaccinated/boosted individuals and unvaccinated/not vaccinated recently
  • Changing close contact quarantine time for unvaccinated/not vaccinated recently to a quarantine period of 5 days, with a return to school/work on day 6 with a negative COVID test on day 5
  • Changing the isolation period for COVID-positive staff to mirror CDC/YKHC updated guidance; this includes a negative COVID test-out option (testing required) after day 5 with a return to work on day 6, following specific guidelines (detailed in the attached updated action plans)
  • We have not changed the COVID-positive isolation period for students. This remains at 10 days, largely due to concerns of being able to manage the guidance of not taking your mask off around others, not eating around others, or being in any situation that involves taking your mask off around others.
