1. FACE MASKS
Face masks are required to be worn by everyone at school regardless of vaccination status
unless exempt for medical reasons. The proper and correct use of face masks is essential to
having any in-person learning. If a student does not have a face mask or lost theirs, one will
be provided.
2. PHYSICAL DISTANCING
LKSD schools will have the following measures in place to ensure students stay at
least 3 feet apart while in classrooms, hallways, and at all other times.
• Classroom seating / desks spaced 3 feet apart
• Signage to serve as reminders to stay 6 feet away from others outside the classroom
• One way routes in some hallways
3. HAND HYGIENE & RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE
Hand hygiene supplies will be available throughout the school and classrooms. Students
and staff will be required to wash or sanitize their hands upon arrival to school / classroom.
Time for hand hygiene will be scheduled throughout the day including before eating and
before returning to classroom after recess. Students will be encouraged to follow these
practices:
• Cough and sneeze away from other people, even while wearing a mask
• Avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
• Wash or sanitize hands hands frequently
• Maintain physical distancing from others
4. INCREASED CLEANING
Increased routine cleaning and disinfection in collaboration with maintenance staff including
areas such as frequently touched surfaces, communal spaces, buses and shared objects to
maintain healthy facilities, including improving ventilation throughout classrooms and schools.
5. DIAGNOSTIC & SCREENING TESTS
Schools will cooperate with public health to support screening testing and contact tracing
